![]() Harry Delgado Detective-Junior-Grade Harry Delgado wanted to be a paleontologist. He loved studying the fossil record for clues to the deaths of all those creatures. But while in graduate school, his father -- a policeman -- called him and told him to come home -- mother was dying. After the funeral, it was obvious that Harry couldn't afford to go back to school -- his father had always been against Harry wasting so much time in school toward a Ph.D. anyway, and it was only his mother's interference that had kept Harry in school for so long. Within days, the senior Delgado had the eldest of his four sons sit the qualifying exams, and Harry was accepted in the ranks of New York's Finest. Within the year, Harry also married his kindergarten sweetheart Theresa Maria Dagata, who was, of all his girlfriends, his mother's favorite. With a logic not apparent at the time, Harry's love for paleontology had prepared him well for a "whodunnit" career and he was elevated quickly to the detective force. To his surprise, Harry loved it; fossils, clues, deaths ... same thing, right? |
