Take part! Gauthier & Gilden, Inc., the Producers of "475 Madison Avenue," and sponsor Whitehall Robins, the makers of Advil, Dimetapp, Robitussin, and other fine products, are pleased to sponsor an exciting, 8-week contest for fans of "475 Madison Avenue." It's a way to get in on the fun and suspense of 475's story line -- and win a terrific Grand Prize!
What is the contest? At this point in our story, the character of Meg Townsend has disappeared. But what has happened? Has she been murdered? Kidnapped? Is she alive? Who did it? Why? Where has she been taken? Is the character of Jim Hillyer involved? Someone else? Is it all just a publicity stunt? It's up to you to figure out WHAT HAPPENED TO MEG TOWNSEND!
How does it work? Over 8 weekly episodes -- Episodes 16 through 23 -- subtle hints and concrete clues will be revealed as to WHAT HAPPENED TO MEG TOWNSEND. They can be found in the fictional LONDON SUN AND NEWS OF THE WORLD tabloid newspaper, available by clicking on the banner within each episode. Clues are both informational (mock articles) and audio. Readers are invited to e-mail their best guess as to the real answer -- which will be revealed in the story line of Episode 24. The 475 Madison Avenue reader who comes closest to figuring out exactly WHAT HAPPENED TO MEG TOWNSEND will be awarded the Grand Prize!
How do I enter? In the fictional LONDON SUN AND NEWS OF THE WORLD WEB page, readers of Episodes 16-23 of 475 Madison Avenue will find an e-form prompting them for their entry, as well as for name and address information needed by the judges.
What is the Grand Prize? Courtesy of 475 Madison Avenue's sponsor, Whitehall Robins, the winning entrant and a spouse or friend will be flown to the location site of a current national television commercial for Advil®! He or she will receive round-trip transportation for two to the production city or location within 90 days of the announcement of the winner. It could be New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, or someplace in between! This is a one-of-a-kind contest prize in which the winner will experience the fun and fascination of big-time ad-agency TV production from the inside. It's a chance to hobnob with writers, directors, producers, photographers, makeup artists, and other professionals; learn about how commercial casting is done; view the "tricks of the advertising trade" that the public never sees; and enjoy a taste of the settings, atmosphere, and people that make 475 Madison Avenue itself so interesting!
On top of all that, it's a deluxe two-day mini-vacation for two, including VIP accommodations, meals, incidental expenses, meetings with 475 Madison Avenue's writer/producers, and more!
The Rules. All entries must come to Gauthier & Gilden, Inc., the Producers, via e-mail to gginc@msn.com, or through the embedded e-form within the LONDON SUN AND NEWS OF THE WORLD WEBsite. Entries received in any form other than e-mail will not be considered. Entries must be 150 words in length or shorter. Entries must be received by 11:00 p.m. Eastern Time on Monday, November 4, 1996 -- that is, three days after the online upload of the last 475 Madison Avenue episode before the mystery is revealed. E-mail entries received after that date and time will not be considered. As clues are unveiled over the course of Episodes 16 through 23, you may enter as often as you like, provided that your final entry is received by 11:00 p.m. Eastern time on November 4, 1996.
Who wins? The Grand Prize winner will be the entrant who, in the sole judgment of the series producers, comes closest to guessing the solution to the mystery of WHAT HAPPENED TO MEG TOWNSEND? In the event that more than one entrant is correct, the winner will be the entrant whose e-mail entry was received first.
The Fine Print. Judging is under the sole supervision of Gauthier & Gilden, Inc., the Producers of 475 Madison Avenue, and the opinion of the judges is final. Contest void wherever prohibited by law.
